Spy Actions

Please note that these changes have no effect on agents purchased with the Money resource. This change is only targeted at instant actions purchased with gold.

Espionage is one of the major gameplay mechanics of Call of War. We noticed that some of the gameplay options provided by instant spy actions are unsatisfactory to use or even worse, very frustrating to play against. Therefore we are disabling the following spy actions: 

  • Disabling Instant Action"Disrupt Economy"
    • This action sees minimal use and doesn't significantly impact gameplay dynamics.
  • Disabling Instant Action "Decrease Morale"
    • Experienced players choose "Sabotage Building" for consistent results, making this action redundant.
    • This function disrupts gameplay in a non-engaging way, as it shifts control of the revolting province randomly, making it less strategic.
  • Disabling Instant Action "Reveal Country's Armies"
    • This feature is too powerful, allowing players to allocate resources and units too efficiently along their entire frontline.
    • We want to avoid unsatisfactory gameplay where one player is being “farmed” as their opponent has perfect knowledge of their armies movements.
    • This feature can cause performance issues on larger maps.

We’ll be monitoring the impact of removing these actions, and will make further balancing iterations as needed.

Early Game Pacing

We want to increase the pace of the early game, making the opening phases of each map more engaging to play. That’s why we are speeding up construction timers of essential buildings. We are also allowing faster research of some defensive units.

  • Tank Plant
    • Reduced construction time

  • Infantry
    • Reduced research time

  • Anti Tank
    • Reduced research time
      • Lvl 1: 30 min → 5 min
  • Anti Air
    • Reduced research time
      • Lvl 1: 30 min → 5 min
  • Armored Car
    • Reduced research time
      • Lvl 1: 30 min → 5 min
  • Changed the calculation formula for research times.
    • You will find that some research options for the Allied doctrine are slightly shorter/longer than before.

Bug Fixes

  • Repaired the French Atlantic coast on the Operation Supremacy event map. The dams have been rebuilt, and the two provinces between Nantes and Bordeaux are no longer underwater.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the info button on Booster Cards pop-ups to malfunction.
  • Addressed an error that occurred when alliance leaders tried to open Alliance Member settings on mobile devices.
  • Fixed a bug that stopped the 'Province is under attack' tooltip from appearing during production speed-ups in combat.
  • Resolved an issue preventing the confirmation popup from displaying when using gold through the "Missing Resources" panel.
