What are War Bonds?
War Bonds represent your nation's ability to draw on the collective willpower of its population, in order to perform one-off feats or operations. Sometimes a leader needs to activate emergency powers, or extend working hours to literally have more time in the day. On rare occasions, they may even be required to engage in a little ungentlemanly warfare - and War Bonds are the resource required to do that.
How do I acquire War Bonds?
War Bonds are generated at a steady pace throughout the day. Every nation, regardless of size or how advanced its economy will generate War Bonds at the same rate. While it is not possible to increase the rate of production of War Bonds, they can be bought directly - like any other resource - with Gold.
What can I do with War Bonds?
War Bonds are used in three main areas:
The Economy: If you need your workers to put in extra hours or your drill sergeants to shout louder, you can use War Bonds to speed up construction or production projects. This means that you can kickstart your economy with much-needed industry, or push a training regimen into overdrive to get fresh troops to the frontline on the double. Keep in mind, however, that you won't be able to buy resources directly with War Bonds - you'll still need your Gold reserves for that.
Field Hospitals: You can use your War Bonds to heal your troops in the field, as long as they are not directly engaged in combat.
Espionage: If an honest battle isn't quite going your way, you can use War Bonds to reveal information about an enemy nation, sabotage their buildings, or intercept their messages.
